presents the basics of cinematography:
“Why?” a question that should be asked at every step of film-making. With this talk I aim to cover some of the ground that is not often covered in film school – The Philosophy of Cinematography.
While this covers many areas (albeit, I don’t go too in-depth), this is meant to be seen as something to keep in mind rather than some form of instruction. If you gain anything from this, I’d hope it would be the ability to further analyze what you do and realize just how much subtle differences can make to create visual narrative. These tools will take time to develop, but as they say “The devil is in the details”.
