Matt Allard of newsshooter.com visits Technical Farm, Japan, to discover they have a complete set of cine modified Canon EF zooms. A 16-35mm f2.8, 24-70mm f2.8 and the 70-200mm f2.8:
These lens conversions offer more precise aperture control for those who want to use their Canon lenses in a more traditional ENG style. The prices are as follows (this is just for the conversion you need to supply the lens)
16-35mm f2.8 $3000US
24-70mm f2.8 IS I $3500US
70-200mm f2.8 IS II $3600US
Now why this may sound expensive if you consider how much Canon Cine primes are and how much the Canon Cine zooms retail for it is relatively cheap.
There is one disadvantage though, but that is to be expected:
Also just to note you do lose the IS functionality of the lenses after they are converted. There is no way around this.
