put together specs for what they think is the ideal Final Cut Pro X system:
Steve Martin and Mark Spencer set out to build a ‘money no object’ collection of peripherals to join the Mac Pro in one hell of an edit setup.
As you can see the total bill for the system adds up to $15,000, probably more when you have to add on proper audio monitoring and HDSDI connectivity if you are using the Mac Pro in a broadcast environment. That’s not a huge amount of cash when you consider how much HD kit costs such as VT machines.
Here’s a list of the kit used:
Apple Mac Pro 8-Core AMD Dual FirePro D700 32GB RAM
Apple 27″ Thunderbolt Display
Promise Technology Pegasus2 R8 24TB RAID
Sharp PN-K321 32″ Edge LED LCD Monitor

The first episode in the series looked at the kit being plugged up together with an overall view of the system. This new episode gets a lot more exciting as Mark Spencer and Steve Martin go into a lot more detail about the components.
