Shoulder supports from an integral part of a filmmaker’s kit these days, especially those working with DSLRS and compact mirrorless cameras. Catering to this need, Foton accessories, makers of shoulder supports, cranes sliders and other assorted accessories, has introduced a new line of shoulder supports.
Their shoulder support line includes three categories: DSLR, Pro and Pro M. While the first one deals mostly with DSLRs, the Pro series can support most camcorders and heavier DSLRs. The Pro M series is created as a special category with redesigned heads to accept the Manfrotto 501PL Quick Release Plate.
One problem is, the sheer number of models: Argon, Arsen, Cyrkon, Cyrkon Duo, Gal, Krypton, Krypton DSLR, Lit, Molibden, Neon, Neon Duo, Neon DSLR, Platinum, Tor and Tytan. Quite an exhaustive list isn’t it? These models can handle any DSLR or camcorder easily of all shapes and sizes, and the Argon Pro is created for the Sony PMW EX-3 camcorder. These shoulder support systems should prove to be of great help to run and gun shooters like ENG shooters, wedding and documentary/event videographers. Here are a couple of videos, the Arsen:
And the Krypton:
