Things to note:

  • I’m always experimenting with lighting. You’ll hardly find the same look twice, unless I’ve shot it together.

Accessories

  • Photo light stands with a 5/8? stud (AmazonB&H)
  • C-stands with Grip arms and heads (AmazonB&H)
  • For an umbrella holder, get the Manfrotto 026 Swivel Umbrella Adapter (AmazonB&H)
  • Backdrop. Paper is crease-free, but heavier and more expensive. Savage (Amazon, B&H) is best.

  • 5-in-1 reflectors (AmazonB&H) and reflector holder (AmazonB&H)
  • 216 Diffusion
  • Umbrella softbox: Cowboy Studio 2 Softbox Kit (Amazon)

Filters

  • LEE Location Pack (AmazonB&H)
  • Lee Zircon Filter Pack (B&H)

Look for these features when you’re purchasing LED lights:

  • 100% dimmable
  • Around 3000 lux at six feet (hard to get!)
  • CRI of greater than 95 for skin tones
  • No flickering till 120 fps – it should allow you to shoot at high speeds.
  • Get Bicolor
