In this video I go through the basics of Blackmagic RAW and how to use it in DaVinci Resolve 15.1

Important!

  • You need Resolve 15.3 or higher to read and use BRAW files from the BMPCC 4K
  • You need Resolve 16 or higher to read and use BRAW files from the BMPCC 6K

Here’s the link to the Blackmagic website for more info.

Note: The *.sidecar file isn’t that important, because the metadata is baked into the *.braw file. When I shot the fashion film no sidecar file was created in camera.

Tip

You can export a single *.braw frame from the Camera Raw tab on the Color Page. Just go to the frame you want and click ‘Export Frame’.
