The key to using the Sony a7S II quickly and painlessly is to customize the buttons on the camera. Once you have this set, all you need is muscle memory and you can enjoy your shooting and focus on the shot.
We’ll start by customizing the Function (Fn) menu:
Important note: The following video was made for the a7R II, so to access the function menu you need to go to B, page 6 and it’s the 5th option. Everything else works exactly the same way.
Notes
The difference between the Function (Fn) menu and custom buttons is ‘One click’. You need one extra click to get to the exact setting with the Fn menu. So program the most-used buttons to C1-C4; and the buttons on the back dial.
